Over 34,000 hits and still going as many, many people express their condolences and memories of the wonderful Barbaro...

Please note:
This is the new "get well" signature book for Barbaro at getwellbarbaro.com, as you can see, it is blog style. The old book had over 600 entrys which you may view right here. I switched books to prevent spam, and have a more secure entry book in general. Due to time restraints, I have only put in the original first 50 signatures from the old book, and some ones I randomly picked. Feel free to sign the book again if need be. Also included are the Jackson's signature just so people could see their thank you's. Most signature's will be up within the hour. Enough chit chat, click on Add Comment below to leave Barbaro your best wishes!

Please Also Notice: Entrys are briefly read by me before they are posted (just to make sure all comments are appropriate).  Please only reply with your get well wishes. This is not a page for rumors, specualtion, or horse racing politics. If you have any reason to contact me, please feel free to do so anytime by clicking here to send a email directly to me.

Dear Barbaro: Such great news about you today. I know everyone who loves you is happy to hear about the new cast and Dr. Richardson's report on your leg. You are the most amazing patient a Dr. could have. Keep it up, fella. Lynne

      Barbaro and Owners,
I know of no other animal who has received so many well wishes and love as this wonderful and talented horse. I have no doubt that he would have won the Triple Crown. Barbaro is truly a winner, having captured the hearts of all of us who care about the well being of animals and respect them deeply. He will long be remembered as one of these beautiful creatures, who is capable of stirring the deepest of emotions. I wish you all only the best in Barbaro's recovery. May he live a very long, enjoyable and healthy life, as a stallion. I so love viewing the daily updates on Barbaro, and constantly marvel at his incredible care and recovery. The world is a better and humane place to know that things such as this, the treatment of critically ill and injured animals is occurring. We can all take comfort in this. Much love to all of you.

May you continue to improve every day and one day be well enough to give us lots of little Barbaros. Thank heavens you belong to the Jacksons who love you even more than we do and are willing to give you the chance to heal and live. I'll miss seeing you run on the track, and I know you could have won the Triple Crown, but I am just glad you are still alive and being given every chance to recover. Thanks to everyone involved with saving you, from your owners to the staff at New Bolton. Get well, Barbaro.

I was horrified when Barbaro was injured. I have been trying to think of gift ideas for him. Any suggestions? I was thinking of a halter, a Lik-It, or a Jolly Ball.

Barbaro what a cool horse you are! Our whole church is praying for you. God cares for animals too. Your jockey is the real hero for keeping you on your feet that day. He not only saved you, but he probably saved the lives of other jockey's and horses. I hope they check the feet and legs with CT scans more often during training and after races. Maybe this could have been avoided. You were in pain when you were warming up. Your jockey should be awarded for saving many lives that day. If he would have let you go down other horses and jockey's would have been trampled to death.

God be with all those involved,
      Pam Navarra

I was first attracted to this classy grass champion at the beginning of 2006, when his trainer decided to try him on dirt races, setting up a run for the roses. I can't remember who wrote the article in DRF, but he pointed out that Barbaro had something special about him and this quick surge of energy; could turn it on whenever he needed. Also the fact that his trainer, Michael Matz, had a remarkable story of his own, saving those children in that horrific airplane crash, and an olympic champion to boot, just sealed the deal. I was on board this ride to the end. What a ride too, climaxing with that awesome turn of foot in the stretch of the derby. So sad the way it ended, but I thank our Maker (and those wonderful doctors) for saving this classy thoroughbred. Perhaps now, one day soon we will view one of his sons or daughters getting his picture taken in another big time stakes race.
